Donate to the Wake ReStores - Make a Difference, and Earn some PIPs!

On the second Saturday of every month, Sustainable Furnishings Council (SFC) will reward shoppers for donating their lightly-used furniture to participating Habitat for Humanity ReStores®. Earn 500 Positive Impact Points, or PIPs with your donation. This program is part of the #SustainableSaturdays education and engagement program to encourage all of us to be better stewards of our environment.

PIPs are a unique new social impact point program, similar to a frequent flyer program, but incorporates environmental advantage/s. Upon making a donation to the ReStore on the #SustainableSaturdays, shoppers will receive a "Thank You" card that contains a unique PIP certificate code. This code can be used to activate the PIPs they earned on the PIPs web app,  for rewards. The PIPs redemption catalog is full of positive impact products and services, such as cool fitness tracking apps, healthy and responsibly made products. In addition, you can donate your PIPs to a great causes or micro-invest your PIPs.

Join us on Saturday November 8th for #SustainableSaturdays

Stop by any of our Wake ReStore locations - Raleigh, Cary, Apex, or Fuquay ReStores and donate your unwanted, gently-use furniture on any of the #SustainableSaturdays events and help support the mission of Habitat Wake and be a good steward of the environment. The US Environmental Protection Agency estimates that nearly 10 million tons of furniture will clog the nation’s landfills this year. Much of these items are in good condition and have some valuable "use" left in them. Our goal is to make people think about what they are tossing and and to keep tons of furniture and household goods out of our landfills.

Last year, Habitat Wake ReStores salvaged more than 4,400 tons of materials that were then resold to the public. These donated and salvaged materials provide repurpose to the new owners plus, proceeds from the Wake ReStores support the mission of Habitat Wake to build safe, affordable homes in partnership with hardworking, low-income Wake County families.
