Thanks to the dedication of staff and generosity of shoppers across the Triangle, the Triangle ReStores have raised more than $1 million through the ReStore Round-Up Program!

Every contribution has helped fund affordable homes for local families and strengthened our mission of building homes, communities and hope through affordable homeownership.

Many store locations were already raising extra funds at the register to support Habitat’s local affordable housing efforts before the ReStore Round-Up Program launched a few years ago.

“We wondered what we could do to take this to the next level,” said Emily George, vice president of Triangle ReStores. “Halfway into the year, we realized we could actually fund an entire home just from change at the register.”

ReStore Round-Up donations have funded four Habitat homes and counting.

“The program is special because it showed that we could take something that we saw the emphasis of in the world and grow it into something that was not only effective in one go but became sustainable year after year,” said Jason Nesler, director of Triangle ReStores.

By rounding up or donating money at the register, shoppers become part of something real, local and tangible. Each store has a tracking sign to show where fundraising efforts are at each year, and the Habitat homes these funds support are just a car ride away.

“It’s awesome because it gets the community involved in all the counties we serve, and it gets the word out about Habitat and affordable housing,” said Apex ReStore Assistant Manager Kira Barbour.

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re not slowing down. Our mission to raise money to fund an additional home each year through the Round-Up Program continues, and we’re looking forward to next year’s goals and opportunities.

When you donate at the register, you're helping to provide more opportunities for local families to purchase affordable homes in the Triangle. Thank you for your generosity!
