Celebrate #NationalRecyclingDay with a few DIY ideas

Tiera Gibson | November 15, 2020

Every day is #NationalRecyclingDay at our Habitat ReStores! Being sustainable and environmentally-friendly is a core tenant of our mission since we deal in recycled goods every day. Our philosophy is first to reuse if possible, then to recycle, and finally, as a last resort, to dispose of in the most environmentally-friendly way possible.

Wanting to take on a new recycled art project? At the Habitat ReStore, you can browse through a dynamic pool of recycled materials for your project, and because donating to a ReStore helps divert millions of tons of usable materials from landfills each year, you’re creating green art that benefits the environment.

Check out a few of these DIY projects from some of our volunteers and staff:

1. One of our Fuquay-Varina ReStore volunteers took some items from the store and started her own planter project:

2. Our Cary ReStore staff turned 4x4 tiles into coasters!

3. The Morrisville ReStore created their own sign with items they found in store:

Shop or donate to any of our ten Triangle ReStores and help build affordable homes in your community.
